SE Iowa | Curious why you want plant height competition. Granted early April rarely lodge but if I drop 160k and get a good stand I worry they will get too tall as planting dates get into May. Tall/lodged beans rarely yield amazing here. I drop 155k now with hopes of 120k stand. Some years I’ll get that easy and other years like this year I don’t. Pure no till though where some don’t make it through the residue as well. | |
