Cherokee iowa | Shook a potload of fats last week. Talk about a mess. I was waiting on Joe Rs biggly rains for three weeks now. Instead all I got was a dust cloud. Woke up one morning and more then one 1400 lber dead. Quick pneumonia drops them as fast as anything. So we scrapped up any dust I could find and soaked with the water tender. Then with temps being hot I decided to just sell a potload out the pen to lighten the burden on the other two potloads in there. Payweight of 1400. Talk about small I told my cousin I didn’t think I’d be selling feeder cattle. But in the end wowsa that selling feeder cattle is a money maker. Had a guy come for three puppies for his ranch west of Yankton. Said it’s a beautiful crop along the way Dad went to kc and said it’s nothing great. So I guess it all depends on the weather. Too much not the best and neither is to little. Not every year can be a record unless your 1891 then just look at the computer screen and make it one. So tonight I’m taking the 3lb challenge I hear it’s the cowboy way. Little heat won’t cover up too much water unless it starts raining more nitrogen.
