No doubt the Trump administration has supported Ethanol.

Lee Zeldin EPA administrator has directed a department which has set agrressive RVOs in effect increasing RINs.. which make the cost to not use ethanol higher.. and yet some in the refining industry buy the RINs and fight tooth and nail against the RFS.. are u kidding me?

Im for consumer choice..I agree with Kooiker that ethanol would probably win out on price to rational consumers.. yet I watch people fill up when given the option with more expensive “ethanol free” which may contain more carcinogenic compounds.. (or it’s cracked through a more expensive process.. see above) so. “Can’t fix stupid” I guess.. there are legitimate reasons..boats.. antiques.. etc.

I didn’t intend to have this conversation with myself on NAT..

However, it seems as if we’re coming to a fork in the road.. take Trumps offer of E 15.. kick the can down the road.. take the farm assistance.  Shut up.

okay.. maybe that’s the political safe way to go..

Or, insist on reform as in the Hose bill.. shouldn’t the refiners adapt by now?  Whay are we still arguing over SREs?

I want to see ethanol expand.. add plants to chew through the growing amount of corn coming.. see trendline yields.

Look we’re saving the administrations bacon right now offering cheaper gasoline than it otherwise would be coming through the strait.. and YES WE STILL IMPORT CRUDE OIL.. and Products from the Middle East.. see California.

So I’m willing to be a team player.. but I still want to advance the ball down the field.

What say you?

How do we get E 30 and more domestic penetration?

ps. I agree with w1891.. the RFS is a mandate.. nothing wrong with that.. but as you change it.. RINs come down.. below cost E 85 which some on this board like.. would rise to market prices..

I didn’t intend to have a conversation with myself.. the rest of y’all can chime in..

Risk it?  Or wait?
