It’s not a one week thing here,we’ve been totally saturated for close to a month now. If corn is sitting in water and has been for that long 4-5 days of mid 90 degree days will
Boil these low spots. Not all fields will be affected the same because as you know not every field drains the same or has the same soil types. although tile drainage helps immensely if the soil it completely saturated it takes time for it to drain the entire system properly.


This is NOT representative of most of our area, it’s one of the flattest wettest farms around and had a planting date that struggled with hard crusting issues too. We installed two truckloads of tile on 30’ laterals here last fall, this is the difference.
