| Yes, 2014 got wet, but I suspect was rather more resilient to forthcoming moisture on 5/1/2014 than 5/1/2026. And yes, I'm aware that the preceding fall of 2013 was wetter than 2025, but not abnormally so. Also, corn planting pace was rather faster in 2014 for Illinois. Emergence 84% 5/18/14 vs. 46% 5/17/26 so a bit more of a head start.
