If you want to do a good job, run on a hot humid day. This week appears to be prime for liberty, if the wind allows.
The herbicide will stress the plants. The nice part is that you’re not running a group 15, round up, or enlist. All of those products are hard for soybeans to metabolize. Liberty will hurt some flowers, but weeds will hurt more if not controlled. Clethodim is a non issue on soybeans for stress from my findings.
If I’m going out, I’d also run a foliar feed product. Why? To give the beans some juice and it will help the liberty heat up to control the remaining weeds. Have also seen guys, including myself, run a strobilurin fungicide at that time. Why? That family of fungicide is not only effective on a number of fungal diseases, it’s also a shot in the arm to your plants. Increases water efficiency, increases photosynthetic activity, etc…
Can run a foliar and strobe for ~$5-$7/ac, half a bushel increase to justify.
All that said, keep after the weeds, keep scouting to find issues, and if you’re very curious, leave 1 acre in the back corner of a field and see what the difference is. You can then quantify your ROI. It’s been a goofy year for weed control for a lot of us.
