NEMO | jicasedeere - 6/28/2026 03:35 I have not been out to the I-States to see for myself, so I don't want to downplay any problems BUT even if the crop is a little yellow from excessive rainfall, the heatwave coming will help it root down some. I still think this crop could be huge! Getting a nice rain shower as I type this with perfect stands of corn and soybeans for as far as the eye can see. Just needs a good drink, which it's currently getting. Last year SESD was phenomenal, and we're on track for another one.
Most of the "a little yellow" corn I've seen looks like a 60 year old mans 1st piss of the morning. The top leaves are that color, the bottom 2-4 leaves look dead. The heatwave coming will scald it. The only thing that mite make it look better, would be to let the cattle guys chop and wet bale it so we dont have to look at it the rest of the summer. Beans do have a chance to wake up some, but thats limited to a point on many acres also. I'm pretty sure this crop damage is limited to just my one little county here in NEMO, but I could be wrong as the same systems have tended to be moving through here from the west and continuing east through Illinois and beyond. I think I could go 150 miles north and 150 miles south from my location and find pretty much the same thing. Maybe go east to the Appalachian Mountains and west into Kansas and find the same? Idk, it dont sound to widespread to me. |
