We didn’t have AC in the house so we didn’t get cold -> hot shock. Unloaded hay at night if it got super hot.
Cold water from deep wells. Pop / carbonated sodas were a luxury. Got to bed early & good (as you could get while sweating with a fan & windows open) night sleep.
