I remember detassling seed corn in 83 or 84 in central Indiana, and it got up to around 100 according to the bank sign in town. Start the morning drenched in dew, end the day drenched in sweat. Black garbage bags were the poncho of choice until the dew dried off. Not much of a breeze in a cornfield!!!! We kept water jugs at one end of the field, and would take a short break after every round. We earned that $3.35 an hour.LOL
