ecmn | So far things are going pretty good. Kind of funny how you know each field has its own personality and the crops are looking exactly like you expected each field to look. The old sod fields are coming along beans are pretty small and the sod is now fighting back. But that's to be expected.
The corn was May 23rd planting the beans were the 24th.
These two fields are very healthy and are doing what I expect of them.
It feels kind of weird going from intensive nutrient management to none. No plant testing, no building in season foliar programs, no figuring out a side dress program, sad to tell the drone guy he doesn't need to come by this year.
just letting soil do what soil can do. The only purchased input was 100 lb of gypsum per acre
I kind of learned a lot of how my equipment is going so we got some investment to make for next year to take it to the next level. But for my first year organic I hope to keep the momentum going so this fall people will say yeah he did okay.
The bull picture is just fun for me. I crawled under the wire one day didn't see where he was at and when I looked up from my belly to start standing up he was standing there greeting me
