I'm confussed. Same fitting in both pics. Thought they called them " Total Bottom Drains " to be used on the bottom of the tank. Would not work well as a Side Draw.
For side mounting, use the bolted fitting with-out the cut outs with a 90 degree elbow to reach the bottom of the tank.
