Subject: RE: Computer phone jack peeps when computer is unplugged

It sounds like the beeping may be coming from your modem, UPS (battery backup), or the phone/DSL adapter rather than the computer itself. If it’s only happening after everything has been unplugged for a while, it could be a low backup battery warning or a device indicating it has lost power or a phone line connection. Try unplugging each device one at a time to identify the exact source of the beep, and if it’s a UPS or modem, check whether the backup battery needs to be replaced. Using a good surge protector or whole-house surge protection can also help protect your equipment during lightning storms.
