I have a 4' round well dug down to 25'. When we put a hydrant system in it back in the early 60's we had a well driller drill a hole in it down to 75'. We then expanded a feeder pig finishing operation out to 250 head. If I remember correctly I think the hole was 6" but it may not matter. I think a lot of this well expertise comes down to luck.
