Subject: Shallow well question


Central Illinois - west of Peoria
Son bought a house that hadn’t had anyone live in for the past year and a half , it has a 45’ 24” well. You can open the yard hydrant and pump the well dry in about 15 minutes. Do wells need flushed and used regularly or they slit in ? Has roughly 8’ of water 35’ down and pump can be lowered . We’ve had an above average rain fall and water table is very high - well up the road has water 8’ from the top . I was surprised to see the water that far down in the well ……
