I think about 50% of my county, Wood County WI, is labeled PC, prior converted. So as long as it farmed, you’re golden. If it sits for 7 years it may revert back to wetlands. We just have hyduric soils. That’s why so many cranberry marsh’s were built on old crop land. I don’t know the date of when everything was grandfathered in. I could ask my DC (District Conservationist, my wife) but if you look at my handle you will figure out we don’t talk about soils at the dinner table !
