At what point is a very used one not worth refurbishing? Are the parts too high priced to even be able to do that?
I've never used or been around a front mount mower, what should be a dealbreaker in terms of wear? As in wear parts that aren't designed for simple or easy fixes. Like frames, housings, or skids.
I will say that these Claas mowers all look terrible for their age. 5yo mowers have rotten plastic, missing or broken PTO guards, faded paint and decals, ripped curtains, and holes in the sheet metal. Its what I would expect out of 10-20yo equipment, and most of these models are 2019 or newer.
Maybe they are just meant to be scrap after a few years....
Generally Claas 3ple mowers are some of the best IMO just below Krone.
The way you describe it sounds like a lifetime of abuse and these are not cheap to repair,
seems like the cost of parts may near the cost of a new one.
I'd not consider this purchase and would look for something in better shape. |
