I could be a little off, but I always thought you couldn’t farm anything that was designated as converted wetlands and be in any FSA program regardless if you are buying crop insurance.
Don’t know if it is possible to back track and custom farm for the land lord …..or separate the 18 acres from the other rented acres somehow . You probably need to ask the FSA office to see what can be done….. they already are aware of it.
