straight boom with a jib. articulated is better inside with tight spaces, made mainly for going up. Straight with jib, allows you to reach out/over stuff further.
So mostly inside - articulated Mostly outside straight with jib
I have a 45' straight boom with a jib, a 20' scissor, and a 20' mast lift. Each fills a niche the others cannot.
