Pro drive is nice but not necessary. And much more expensive to work on/replace, shd that be necessary.
But 5 spd feederhouse is a must have IMO.
Chopper drive is much heavier on 70 series.

Is the 5 speed feederhouse as crucial, if running a 635 auger head? I’m not familiar with the Deere’s but I’d think it a necessity or at least handy for the increased ground speed if using a draper.

In my opinion, yes. It's a poor system and not heavy enough. I run a 635 and 1293 and just cross my fingers.
