Would have never guessed.
The way I understand it, the average numbers are skewed due to the extreme wealth of the upper 1-10% of US citizens. If you were to take the median wealth and/or income of all US citizens vs all UK citizens, the middle of the pack UK citizen actually is better off/worth more, although not by much.
