I am thinking by the look of things now, it will really be ugly come August with shallow roots and nitrogen all but gone! Sidedressed corn has not shown improvement yet.... including my own. If anything, the areas have gotten worse or bigger after a fairly dry week..... .6" Sunday is all.

Where you at, Ted? I consider our location a tweener, not North central, and not NE Iowa, but right in the middle. ‘Tween Osage and Cresco. And things couldn’t hardly look any better. We been running on the ragged edge of just barely enough moisture to keep things moving along beautifully. But 10 days of excessive heat and it’ll for sure be showing the effects.
