Been my experience over the years the corn plant roots need to get deep in soil to raise that bumper crop. Depends on how close to tassel plant is but most is getting near tassel. When tassel hits root development is as good as over. We will see yield hit and if it get bit dry after tassel the yield hit can become substantial
