Subject: RE: Algae in diesel? Dealer recommends fuel tank replacement?

I had a tractor many moons ago that had erratic power problems. It was a new demonstrator tractor, so it had been every where.,
Long story short it didn't get fixed under warranty and I sent it down the road. After it was gone I was told the algea had eaten the liner out of the tank, and the dissolved liner and plastic was causing the problem.
This was back when plastic tanks were new.
The tractor was gone so I never knew if that was the problem or not.
My experience is use the algaecide in everything, fill the tanks full, let set a few days. either suction out the crap or buy filters and go on from there.
