Based on your testing and use of the various receivers, can you think of any reason that HyperTerminal wouldn't work?
HyperTerminal should work. Maybe the parity setting isn't right, maybe the flow control setting isn't right. Whatever the bottom box is in the hyperterminal connect screen, I always set that to None.
