Subject: RE: 3rd Party Serial GPS into 7R Deere

East Central, Nebraska
i am very familiar with ag leader products but very unfamiliar with the deere side. in my combine i have a 2630, and to accomplish what your talking about i got a harness from ag express that had no connector, only pins on one end and i had to insert the pins into the deere factory plug and then other end was a 9 pin serial end.

if they are telling you that your 7r has a nine pin serial to plug in to then all you would need to do is take your ag leader port b cable coming of your gps device, assuming you have a 6500/7500 and plug it in. if it does not work then you may need a null modem adaptor but if they are telling you that your tractor has that 9 pin serial then you really shouldn't need anything, assuming the genders match up and you dont need the null modem.

as for settings, you would need to turn those on in the ag leader display, traditionally john deere liked 19,200 for baud rate.
