The studies that show low carb doesn't work are nearly always NOT low carb. If you look into the study it will be comparing a group eating 300 grams carbs to another eating 200 grams and infer the 200 gram group being low carb or worse yet being ketogenic. Which it is neither.
Nutritional ketosis is achieved when insulin levels get low enough so the body metabolically switches primarily to fat burning mode. In metabolically healthy people this usually equates to carbohydrate consumption under 50 grams per day. For someone like myself with insulin resistance under 20 grams per day.
It is easy to show low carb high fat doesn't work when the studies cheat and make claims that aren't related to reality.
Get a ketone blood meter. Measure. If you have.5 or above ketones, you are eating a ketogenic diet. Otherwise, either just guessing or lying about eating a ketogenic diet.
Works for me. Others results may vary.
