I used to use excel for the reasons the above poster mentioned. You can make excel do about anything. I moved it over to Google sheets because it can also do everything I need it to, its free, and its real time live across all my devices. I can buy something at hardware store, enter it into my Google sheets from my phone in the parking lot, and its a live update to cloud. I have excel via MS 365 on my phone also for work and I much prefer sheets over that excel app, but thats an option. AI helped me move excel macros over to scripts as the language is slightly different. I also like sheets for harvest tracking as we can all see loads in bins in real time. Whoever is loading bins is in charge of adding the load to the sheet. Makes it handy, especially if you dry corn in batch bins.
