So is the strait of hormuz open today? How much is that costing the US taxpayer?
Meanwhile domestic produced ethanol enriched fuels are cheaper, cleaner and better.
In some cases over a dollar cheaper as ethanol is fetching $1.90/gallon wholesale.
Looks like the US may have another record corn crop on the way. Golly what are we gonna do with that?
Nationwide permanent E -15 anyone?
Enough is enough. It’s time to set the record straight.
https://ethanolrfa.org/media-and-news/category/blog/article/2026/05/ethanol-free Without a shred of credible evidence or analysis, the anti-E15 crowd suggests that simply allowing retail gas stations to voluntarily offer E15 would somehow lead to “higher gas prices” and restricting SREs to truly small refining companies would somehow result in “refinery closures” and “lost jobs.” They’ve apparently adopted their motto from Chico Marx, who famously asked, “Who you gonna believe…me or your own lyin’ eyes?” When it comes to E15, you should believe your eyes—not the hysterical nonsense generated by Beltway PR hacks and hired guns. When you pull into any retail gas station offering E15 today, your own eyes will see that the fuel is the lowest-cost option available. E15 typically sells for 15-40 cents per gallon less than standard E10 gasoline; often times, the savings are even greater, like at this station in Waterloo, Illinois, just yesterday. https://growthenergy.org/policy-priority/e15-and-higher-ethanol-blends/
- The U.S. Senate should:
- Follow the House of Representatives’ lead and advance legislation to permanently enable year-round sales of E15 (S.593/H.R. 1346, the Nationwide Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act).
- Congress should:
- Encourage EPA to finish regulatory action from the last Trump Administration that would revise the burdensome E15 labeling requirement and allow current refueling infrastructure that is compatible with E10 to be compatible with E15.
- Pass the Ethanol for America Act (S.2591/H.R. 4864), which would require EPA to finalize their E15 labeling and infrastructure rulemaking within 90 days of passage.
