SCWisconsin
Two small engine Kubota's in my shop. One had a mechanical fuel lift pump, the other an in line electric fuel lift pump. Converted mechanical unit to an electric inline. Starts better. Turning ignition key starts priming process immediately, versus lag with mechanical pump. Just loop the mechanical 'in' line to 'out' line. Don't need to remove mechanical pump from engine block.
Found a Keyed electric source to power up the new in line electric pump. Buy them on Amazon, not from dealer. 16 bucks versus I can't remember. $150 maybe?
Received within one day.

Not your problem, but through the years any operational issues with these little guys always turn out to be fuel related. They are so susceptible to water in fuel. Tiny amounts cause a problem. Again placed cheap water separators (drainable) in line, from Amazon, problems solved.
