I wouldn't waste my time. I would find a cheap older Wilson hopper .

A barrel dump doesn't hold enough to get anything done. Neighbor has one that he insists on using during silage harvest. The round tub makes the silage sploosh out when you hit it just right. It only holds 7xx bu of dry grain. Cant get 25 ton of wet cake on it.

They work good for rock and demolition but everything else, use a different trailer.

You also need to reinforce your tailgate, and add auxiliary latch hardware.




Nothing wrong with 700 bushels of capacity on a short haul, especially if it can be done for just the price of adding a grain gate.
