So much more information is needed here.  What type of internet service?  Cable, DSL, Fiber (probably not).  What exactly is the beeping coming from?  A wall jack, modem, router, fiber ONT?.

FYI....what you are referring to as a computer phone jack is almost guaranteed to be an Ethernet jack using an RJ45 terminal with 8 wires whereas a residential phone jack would be smaller and use 2 or 4 wires.  There are no any service providers using phone jacks any longer as dial up died many years ago.
