SE SD | There is a saying that 90% of carb problems are ignition. Start there and once all electrical and timing things are sorted, only then jump into the carb.
The model A updraft carbs are pretty easy to take off and clean if needed. Two bolts, a gas line, a couple connections and about 10 minutes will get it on your workbench.
They're not particularly fragile from the couple I've been involved with so little worry there.
It is also possible to have debris in the gas tank that is intermittently clogging the supply line, so that may be another thing to look at. | |
