| My go to for connections is Weather Pack connectors.
Water tight, easy, pretty cheap, and most of all you can take things apart easily WHEN you inevitably need to work on it again. LOTS of flexibility for standardizing connections for later changes, upgrades, or even moving things from one piece of equipment to another.
I've had solder joints fail because they're right, not flexible and you need to replace both the joint and any wire inside the heat shrink when doing a repair down the road.
That and if I put a connector together wrong, it's a snap to re pin in a different order.
For cable I'm using iirc an SJOOW rubber coated wire that lasts well, but as others said extension cord is great bang for the buck.
I just outgrew them when I wanted 2,3,4, and 7 conductor choices. I got tired of running multiple 3 conductor cables. | |
