Sioux County, NWIA | The purpose of the declutch is to prevent the apron belts from damaging the netwrap during bale ejection IF the tractor running the baler has inadequate hydraulic capacity to open the door fast enough.
If you have really slow tractor hydraulic and you are getting wrap damage you might need to adjust the declutch to disengage sooner. Book should cover that if my memory serves.
If you have enough hydraulic capacity then by far your best option is to eliminate the declutch. I have 25 gpm pumps on my baler tractors and that is more than enough to run the tailgate without the need for the declutch.
Best way to delete the declutch is to replace the clutch jaws with the one piece sprocket that came available on 2019 and newer balers. Even if the clutch jaws are locked closed and never opened I have seen them chip out anyway. | |
