Subject: Salford 4200 - Fall Tillage

We are in the market for a new tool, mainly for fall tillage. We currently run an rts in the spring over most acres and a case 875 in the fall over select acres.

Our goals are weed control and working soybean stubble that was no tilled into corn stalks, to prep for possible stale seedbed planting of next years corn. We want to run it in fresh corn stubble too and over lighter ground in the spring, but that isn’t our focus.

We do not have rocks, and won’t be working the ground in wet conditions. There’s not much information on the 4200 from users online, so looking for feedback. We don’t have any demo units nearby, and from some reviews people have mentioned it won’t kill weeds effectively, which would be a deal breaker for us. We know the 5200 option, but looking at it we think it may be to aggressive for wide use across a lot of our acres, especially in the spring.

Any experience with the 4200 would be appreciated.
