Probably some truth in that.
There is truth in the fact that the Iranians know the Democrats will go against anything Trump does.
With this knowledge, they know he does not have support for much of a war at home.
Therefore, they do not have to be serious about negotiating, as the Democrats will cut the legs out from under Trump any chance they get.
IE, we will defeat ourselves.
