NW Iowa | Have a D905 3 cylinder diesel that starts hard when cold. It will puff smoke annd anks just like the glow plugs anre not working. After it runs for a minute it starts excellent. Only has 6,000 hrs which isn’t very many for one of these engines. There is absolutely no blow by cold or warm. All three glow plugs work. Checked voltage to them and even verified they worked by bench testing them. Also checked the valves. Had to adjust a couple but weren’t off by much. Checking the injection timing isn’t real easy on these little guys so I haven’t done that yet. Anyone have any other ideas? The thing runs flawlessly after it starts. | |
