Subject: Model A experts or just enthusiasts

Central ND
Our department has maintained ownership of a 1929 Model A fire engine since it acquired it sometime in the 40s I think. About 10 years ago, we decided to do a little work so we could drive it in the yearly parade, and take kids for rides at the annual picnic. It got new tires, new radiator, and a new water pump. Has always ran fair until yesterday, it hadn't been run for a couple years. It was dry on gas, which we thought would be a good thing. Pulled the sediment bulb, ran some gas out before sending to carb. Was able to get it through the parade, but it wasn't happy. No position of the gas knob seemed to help, if you held the knob out about a third it would run pretty well for a while, then would run out of gas. I had the gas/choke knob turned open probably 4 turns with no noticable change. Would a good dose of Seafoam help? Carb probably needs to come off, but we all know how those projects can go.
