Subject: Good question

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
We have an older 1770NT 24-30. We plant in conventional tillage.

We plant about 1600 acres/year. Each of our disks goes over 67 acres/year. Each of your disks goes over 125 acres/year. We plant at a slower speed so the wear might be less.

We measured our disk openers prior to 2025 and found that all were around that 14 5/8" mark. We used them that way for 2025. Prior to this years planting we checked them again and were pleasantly surprised that they were still very close to 14 5/8" yet so we went with them for 2026.

We haven't measured ours after the 2026 planting but I suspect they have worn closer to 14 1/2". Once wear starts, they become thinner and the diameter decreases so they need to turn more often so the wear really starts to accelerate then.
