I would lube the bead and rim with silicone, or a good penetrating lube, and let it set overnight.

Local tire place years ago would use water based lube (think generic KY lube) for lubing the o-ring seals on big floater tires (split rim 44x66-24) said the water based lube was “easier” on the rubber than other lubes. They claimed the cheaper generics (from Walmart, Dollar General etc) worked just as good as the name brands. Might get a good chuckle from your spouse if you ask them to pick some up for you to use for this application!
