Subject: What years would be (more) dependable in smaller semis?

SE Michigan
Looking at possibly updated a truck to one made after 2000. I realize that emissions didn't get serious till around 2006-2007. Most of these are either wore out or being kept so I am looking at 2007-2012 trucks in my price range for short hauls (non highway / 10 miles max). Are the later ones "more" dependable then the first few yrs?

Not truing to start drama (as most of the emission related posts turn into) I understand that anything could be an issue, just want to know my best chance of not having an issue. BTW....mst of the trucks I looked at (on line not in person) have 250-350K miles and are usually fleet trucks since I am looking at S/A day cabs, preferably automatics.
