Yet there have been a number of sales where there have been over a thousand head of baby calves from split pairs. Where it rains people tend to farm and many don't want to screw around with cattle. Cattle have always been a mainstay in more arid country, which can eventually mean a big swing in numbers when it doesn't rain for years at a shot.
