IA/MN/WI | Are you not seeing a response in either soybeans or corn? I've been working with quite a few guys this year on testing water quality, specifically guys that haven't seen good responses to fungicide on corn. Guys are shocked to see how hard their water source is. It can play a big role in how long the fungicide is active. I've tested several wells that were between 8.5-9, at those pHs you realistically have about 30-45mins to get the tank empty or your losing most of your activity.
We correct this with a simple product that has a pH sensitive dye in it, grower adds it to his spray tank until the water changes the correct color and he's ready to rock. It also has the benefit of some humectant and surfactant to give the fungicide some more time to get into the leaves.
If you are struggling to see responses on both crops I'd check your water.
That said, I've never been a big proponent of fungicide on beans, I just don't see it pay much. I'd rather spend the money on a foliar fertility pass because I have seen those pay big. | |
