NC Iowa
First of all i took shop class in high school not physics.

So this july i will probably spray fungicide on my corn. Im hoping it will raise my yield enough to make a profit on the application of fungicide. If tare spot comes in late i may have to make a second application of fungicide in late August.
So that second application wont add anymore ears in the field. It won’t add anymore rows of kernels on an ear. The length of each ear should be set by late August. So since i cant get anymore kernels per acre my only way to gain more yield is to make a heavier kernel. So unless you make the kernel bigger the only other option is to make the kernel more dense. A more dense kernel should have a higher test weight. So in my eyes if i make a second fungicide application it would be to increase my TW or at least not lose the potential TW.

Now someone will say you are confusing test weight and kernel weight. There are multiple factors that come into play when TW is discovered kernel weight is an important part of TW.

Again I want to restate I took shop class not physics.
