North Central Indiana | We sell by weight and price it by weight. Every load of corn sold in the United States is priced on 56 pound units. That never ever ever changes. Doesn’t matter what the density of your corn is. It is always priced based on 56 pound units. That is weight. You can get docked or get a premium at select processors based on density measurements like test weight but that has zero effect on how they calculate how many bushels you’re selling. It’s still based on 56 pound units of weight. Every single time. There is no magical elevator that pays for example $4.25x57.4 lb test weight/56 pound standard. They always take net weight/56 and pay for that | |
