NC Iowa | In555 is correct about your bin. You can put more corn in your bin if the test weight is high. But that has nothing to do with bushels per acre. It only has to do with bushels in the bin.
Now, I'm thinking IN555 maybe wrong about the test weight not mattering on yield. If you are able to pack more sugar into a kernel of corn and make that kernel heavier doesn't that give you more pounds of corn(more yield per acre assuming you have the same number of kernels and the kernels don't get bigger). In my thought when we have a major problem that drags yield down one thing that usually shows up in low test weight. The low test weight may just be from low yield or if we could have corrected the problem would we have increased the test weight enough to improve the yield? I think I just confused myself writing this. | |
