At least the non-public stuff like ditches got kept to 16.5 ft. instead of the full 50 they wanted at first. Plus it can still be cut for hay...
Did some digging, guess if you leave that strip 100% no-till you can legally raise crops on it, just can't work it up. Surprised they put that bit in.
