Driftless SW Wisconsin

jd4050 - 6/11/2026 15:26  ... the things that need to get figured out is the govt needs to push country of origin labeling, but if they open the boarder and ship live over when do they switch over to usa meat 30 days 90 days?...

If it's not calved in the USA it is not USA beef.  This "30, 90 days then it becomes USA beef" is ridiculous and not MCOOL at  all.

To be USA beef it needs to be calved, raised, and processed in the USA.

If water buffalo (passes as lean beef) is fed in the USA for 30 days does that become "USA beef"???

If it's calved in Mexico it is a product of Mexico. If it's calved in Canada it is a product of Canada. No matter if it's fed and processed in the USA.

COOL stands for "Country Of Origin" Labeling. Its ORIGIN is where it's calved. Let's tell the truth for a change.
