So is weight loss really the key?

Kenneth H. Cooper (born March 4, 1931) might say conventional wisdom suggested before his aerobics (1966) that exercise for those over 30 could cause an heart attack, but conventional wisdom says today aerobic exercise is good for you. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenneth_H._Cooper

Now, what is your aerobic exercise routine...??? It's healthy....and your muscles will burn your glucose.

>completely off insulin shots by second week

So, one does not know how many of the insulin-producing beta cells were destroyed. And one might be able to transition to a Mediterranean diet overtime, without an issue....if you listen to Dr. Cooper's advice.
