coast of Maine | Way back in the later 70's,,,10 's of thousands of forests in Maine were treated by plane/helicopter with (then only called) Roundup.It was for conifer release.It is still labeled as such.This made the 50 ft tall hardwoods to die and kill all under brush for the fir and spruce to jump out ahead.That pulp was hi Q for newsprint.(obviously that market is gone)So now they want the hardwood trees,,as it is good for toilet tissue,,go figure... | |
